Science-Backed Water Filtration

Two well-understood processes, reverse osmosis and electrolysis, in one under-sink system. Here's exactly what happens to your water between the pipe and the glass, stage by stage.

Start

Local water supply

  • Chlorine
  • Heavy metals
  • Fluoride
  • Sediment
Stage 1

5 µm

Pre-filter

Polypropylene and a carbon block trap sediment, rust and particles, and reduce chlorine, odor and organic matter. This protects the membrane that comes next.

Stage 2

0.0001 µm

Reverse osmosis

Pressure pushes water through a semi-permeable membrane. Dissolved salts, heavy metals like lead and arsenic, fluoride and nitrates are separated and flushed to drain, then post carbon polishes the taste.

Stage 3

Every pour

UVC sanitization

UVC light switches on whenever water passes the membrane, so bacteria and mold can't build up inside the system.

Stage 4

Ca + Mg

Remineralization

Reverse osmosis removes minerals along with contaminants, so calcium and magnesium are added back for a smooth, balanced, mineral-water taste.

Stage 5

1.3 ppm avg

Hydrogen infusion

Electrolysis splits water in a separate chamber. Only the hydrogen gas is dissolved into your drinking water; the oxygen is kept out.

Stage 6

Live TDS

Smart faucet

The faucet shows your water's TDS and remaining filter life in real time, so you see the result every time you pour.

Result

Your glass

  • Low TDS
  • Ca + Mg
  • 1.3 ppm H₂

The result: purified, remineralized water enriched with molecular hydrogen, a compound being actively studied for its potential antioxidant effects and role in oxidative-stress research.

“We moved into an older house last year and the water always tasted metallic. We had it tested and weren't thrilled with the results. A countertop pitcher helped a little but it was slow and the taste never fully went away. Since installing this, the metallic taste is completely gone and I like being able to check the TDS reading right on the faucet. It's reassuring to see the number every time I fill a glass.”

“Our tap water has always had a strong chlorine smell, and we were going through two cases of bottled water a week. I researched RO systems for months and kept going back and forth on the price. What really sold me was having RO filtration, remineralization, and hydrogen enrichment all in one unit, without needing a big storage tank under the sink. I liked the idea of getting thoroughly filtered water while also putting minerals back into it and having the hydrogen feature built in. It's been about six weeks now. The chlorine taste is gone, the kettle isn't building up white scale anymore, and we've stopped buying bottled water completely. When I did the math on what we were spending on cases, it made the price a lot easier to accept.”

“Coffee tastes noticeably smoother. My husband noticed before I even told him we'd switched. We also liked that the system adds hydrogen to the water, which made it feel like we were getting a little more out of our everyday hydration routine.”

“I used to have a big tank RO system that took up half the cabinet and was painfully slow to refill a pitcher. When it finally died, I wanted something tankless that did more than basic filtration. This one fills a glass quickly, runs quietly, and I really like that it also remineralizes and adds hydrogen to the water. The water tastes better than my old system ever did. I was nervous spending this much, but after two months I don't regret it at all.”

“We were spending a lot on delivered water jugs. This paid off the idea of the jug service pretty quickly, and honestly the water tastes better.”

AlkaPure is designed for incoming water pressure between 14.5 and 58 PSI. Many US homes run higher, often somewhere between 40 and 80 PSI, so it's worth a two-minute check: screw an inexpensive pressure gauge onto an outdoor spigot or your washing machine connection.

If your reading is above 58 PSI, a pressure-reducing valve on the line feeding AlkaPure keeps everything running smoothly and protects the fittings. Not sure what your number means? Send it to hello@veltrabody.com and we'll talk you through it.

Often not. Many kitchens already have a spare hole from a sprayer, soap dispenser or old filter faucet, and the AlkaPure smart faucet can go right there.

If there's no spare hole, a small one will need to be drilled. For stone countertops like granite or quartz, a plumber or countertop installer can do this cleanly, and having it ready before you start makes installation much easier.

Yes to both. AlkaPure works with municipal or well water. For wells, we recommend adding a sediment pre-filter before the unit to protect the filters and help them last longer. Well water varies a lot from home to home, so it's wise to test yours first; high levels of iron, sediment or bacteria may need treating before the water reaches an RO system. Email your results to hello@veltrabody.com and we'll let you know if AlkaPure is a good fit.

It also sits happily after a water softener, and the reverse osmosis membrane reduces the extra sodium that softeners add.

AlkaPure works with mains water and bore water. For bore water, we recommend adding a sediment pre-filter before the unit to protect the filters and help them last longer. Bore and tank water vary a lot from property to property, so it's wise to test yours first; high levels of iron, sediment or bacteria may need treating before the water reaches an RO system. If you're on tank water, also check that your pump delivers pressure within AlkaPure's range. Email your results to hello@veltrabody.com and we'll let you know if AlkaPure is a good fit.

AlkaPure filters in two stages. The pre-filter catches sediment, rust and particles and reduces chlorine, odorsodours and organic matter. The 0.0001 µm reverse osmosis membrane then goes further, reducing dissolved heavy metals such as lead, arsenic, mercury and chromium, along with fluoride, nitrates, sulfates, pharmaceutical residues and volatile organic chemicals. This is based on the manufacturer's specifications, and results vary with your source water.

You don't have to take our word for it. The unit shows your input and output TDS (total dissolved solids) side by side, and the smart faucettap displays a live reading every time you pour.

It's a fair question. Reverse osmosis reduces minerals along with contaminants, which is exactly why AlkaPure includes a remineralizationremineralisation stage. After filtration, calcium and magnesium are added back, giving the water a smooth, rounded taste that's closer to still mineral water than flat filtered water.

This mineral balancing is where the AlkaPure name comes from. It isn't a medical or therapeutic claim, and the exact mineral content and pH of your water will vary a little with your local supply.

Hydrogen water is simply clean water with molecular hydrogen gas (H₂) dissolved into it. Inside AlkaPure, a small electrolysis cell draws hydrogen from one stream of water and dissolves it into the water flowing to your faucettap, so every glass arrives freshly enriched: an average of 1.3 ppm, and up to 1.8 ppm depending on your source water. It adds no taste at all.

Molecular hydrogen is being actively studied for its potential role in oxidative stress. Veltra Body products are not medical devices, and we make no claims about the health effects of hydrogen-enriched water.

Hydrogen is the smallest molecule there is, so it gradually escapes once water is poured. In an open glass it holds its hydrogen for around 3–5 hours, which is why it's at its best enjoyed fresh.

Taking it with you? Fill a glass or stainless steel bottle right to the brim and seal it tightly, and the hydrogen can last up to 10 days. Once you open it, enjoy it within 3–5 hours. One thing to know: freezing releases the hydrogen, so ice cubes won't hold on to it.

Any filter fine enough to trap bacteria needs a way to keep itself clean. AlkaPure's UVC light switches on every time water passes through the membrane, killing bacteria caught there so fresh water never picks up any residue.

It also stops bacteria and moldmould from growing inside the unit, so there's no sanitizingsanitising routine for you to remember. Changing the filters is the only maintenance.

It depends on your water and how much you use, but as a guide, whichever comes first:

Pre-filter (CBPA): up to 12 months or 2,000 gallons
RO filter (ROCB): up to 24 months or 1,000 gallons

Pre-filter (CBPA): up to 12 months or about 7,570 litres (2,000 US gallons)
RO filter (ROCB): up to 24 months or about 3,785 litres (1,000 US gallons)

Pre-filter (CBPA): up to 12 months or about 7,570 litres
RO filter (ROCB): up to 24 months or about 3,785 litres

Busy households or harder water may need a change a little sooner. You won't have to keep track: the system counts down filter life and reminds you when it's time.

Both filters unscrew from the top of the unit and lift straight out, so there's no reaching behind pipes. Only need one? Email hello@veltrabody.com and you can buy it on its own. There's no salt to top up, ever.

Far less than older systems. Traditional RO units often send 3–4 gallonslitres down the drain for every gallonlitre they purify. AlkaPure is rated at a 1.2:1 wastewater ratio, which is kinder to the planet and to your water bill.

Yes. Because AlkaPure is tankless, it filters on demand at around 1.6 liters per minute (about 0.42 gallons per minute), so you can fill a glass, kettle or cooking pot without waiting for a tank to refill.

With a capacity of up to 600 gallons a day, it comfortably covers drinking, coffee, tea and cooking for the whole household.
